Government agencies and private Traders have procured 524655 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on 18th day of procurement.
Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesperson said that out of the total 524655 procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 522797 MT of wheat 1858 MT has been procured by the private traders (arhtyias).
He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 125300 metric tonnes, MARKFED 120632 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 125854 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 34259 MT wheat respectively. The Centre government agancy FCI has procured 77480 MT wheat. Apart from this Pungrain Procured 39272 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.
Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 8621483 MT.
